Algebra 2 is a subject that middle and high schoolers take before calculus. There is quite a bit of material covered in this subject. Algebra II begins with solving binomials, understanding how to expand them out of special forms such as (a + b)^2 as well as take long binomial expressions and factor them back into suc simplified forms. Students are then introduced to the quadratic formula, solving a binomial function that cannot be factored easily. The quadratic formula introduces students to radicals, working with radicals, and understanding what radicals mean as roots and fractional exponents. The introduction of radicals also gives students an opportunity to start working with exponents and logarithmic functions, which students, once they realize, are opposites of each other. When students build up a knowledge of all these various equations and functions, then they begin to study their graphical representations, both their general representations as well as basic translations. A basic survey of sequences is also incorporated into the class, in addition to algebraic permutations and combinations. If any of these subjects is causing you difficulties, contact tutorspree and we'll get you set up with a tutor in your area as soon as possible!

I have been living in New York City working as a Structural Engineer for four years. I'm a rising senior at NYU studying Math. I think tutoring is the best job out there; it feels great to help others learn and it keeps my own wits sharp. I tutored at Rutgers University for a couple of years and tutoring is definitely the reason I've aced all of my math classes (and helped a bunch of other students grab an A, or pull up from an F a...
