To enter, you must be between the ages of 14 to 25, and either a high school or college student in the United States.
How do I enter?
Write an essay of 500 words or less telling us what you're studying (or planning to study) and how it will change the world. Email your essay to email@example.com with the subject line "2013 Education Will Change the World Contest - Category", where "category" is one of the 7 categories listed above. Make sure your email contains your name, school, year, email address, and phone number.
When does the scholarship contest begin and end?
Entries may be submitted anytime between May 1, 2013 and November 30, 2013. Winners will be announced by December 15, 2013.
How will my essay be judged?
Your essay will be chosen based on a combination of the votes of the Tutorspree community and a panel of specially selected Tutorspree judges. Winners will be chosen based on the clarity, wit, and sincerity of their essays.

Tutorspree's Education Will Change the World Scholarship Contest & Official Rules
OFFICIAL RULES. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. OPEN ONLY TO individuals who are at least 14 years of age on or before their entry into the Contest. Such individuals must be a legal resident of one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia as of May 01, 2013. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
1.CONTEST PERIOD: The entry period for the Tutorspree's Education Will Change the World Scholarship Contest (the "Contest") begins on May 01, 2013, at 12:00 AM EST (the "Contest Start Date") and ends on November 30, 2013 at 11:59 PM EST (the "Contest End Date") (collectively, the "Contest Period"). Prizes have limited entry, ending, and selection periods as noted below.
2.Contest DESCRIPTION: The Contest is a skill-based Contest, the object of which is to provide your best possible answer to the question "What are you planning to study and how will it change the world?". Each Submission must adhere to the following standards:
* The text must exceed 200 words and be no more than 500 words.
* Printed essay font size may not be smaller than 12 pt.
= * All essays must address the specific Contest question presented during Contest Period, must be original, must not have been previously published, released or distributed and must have been created and must be owned exclusively by you. Publication of your essay must not violate any legal obligations that you have or the legal rights of any third party. Once submitted by you, Sponsor may post your submission on a publicly accessible web site or disseminate your submission through print and broadcast media either during or following the contest. Sponsor disclaims any and all liability for any infringement of any third parties' rights in any submission caused by you.
3.HOW TO ENTER: Only one entry per person will be eligible during the Contest Period. Entry dates for the Contest Period commence at 12:00 AM EST on the Contest Start Date and close at 11:59 PM EST on November 30, 2013 (the "Contest Entry End Date") (collectively, the "Contest Entry Period"). Any attempt by a participant to enter more than once during the Contest Entry Period may result in disqualification of all entries submitted by that participant for the entire Contest Period. Internet Entry Method: Participants may enter this Contest during the Contest Entry Period via the Internet by emailing all required information to firstname.lastname@example.org. All Internet entries must be submitted and received before the Contest Entry End Date to be considered for any prize drawings. Each submission must not contain copyrighted materials or any other materials that may be restricted, prohibited or outlawed by federal, state or local laws.
4.JUDGING AND AWARDING OF PRIZE: JUDGING. One (1) Grand Prize Winner and seven (7) Category Prize Winners will be chosen from all eligible submissions received during the Contest Entry Period. The eligible entries will be judged by a panel of independent judges selected by Sponsor (including Sponsor's employees) based upon the following criteria in the following percentage values of each criteria:=
* Clarity of expression: 33.3%
* Creativity and wit: 33.3%
= * Sincerity: 33.3%
The decisions of the judges are final and fully discretionary. The judges will announce the Prize Winners from among all of the eligible entries by December 15, 2013 (the "Winner Selection Date"). All drawings are conducted under the supervision of the Sponsor whose decisions are final in all matters relating to the Contest. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
5.PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize equal to $1,500 Scholarship, and seven (7) Category Prizes equal to $200 Scholarship shall be awarded for the Contest Period. The total value of all prizes to be given away is $2,900. No substitution, cash equivalent, transfer, or assignment of the Prizes is permitted except at the sole discretion of Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event a prize is unavailable for any reason. Winners are responsible for payment of all federal, state and local taxes on the Prizes and for any other expenses associated with the Prizes not specifically described herein. Except where prohibited by law, each potential winner will be awarded his or her prize only after such winner's eligibility has been verified and such potential winner has completed (1) a statement of eligibility, (2) a liability and publicity release (unless prohibited by law), and (3) any other documentation reasonably requested by Sponsor. Failure by the potential winner to return such executed documents (including the publicity release described below) within ten (10) days after request by the Sponsor may result in disqualification of the potential winner. The Prizes shall be made payable to the individual winner (or parent or legal guardian), and is intended for use to an accredited college, university or other institution of higher learning.<= /font>
6.ELIGIBILITY: Eligibility is limited to individuals who are at least 14 years of age on or before their entry into the Contest. Such individuals must be a legal resident of one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia as of May 01, 2013. Directors, officers and employees of Sponsor or its agents, affiliates, subsidiary and parent companies, distributors, contractors, advertising and Contest agencies and members of immediate families or households of any of the foregoing persons are not eligible. The Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and is void where prohibited by law. Any person that is otherwise prohibited by contract, law or other rule from participating in contests of a nature similar to the Contest is not eligible to win any prizes in conjunction with the Contest. By participating, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and to accept the decisions of the Sponsor as final in all matters relating to this Contest.
7.NOTIFICATION: Winner will be notified via email or telephone on or before the Winner Selection Date. Failure by potential winner to respond to such notification within ten (10) days after Sponsor's first attempt, failure by the potential winner to adhere to these Official Rules, or the return of the Prizes as undeliverable will result in disqualification of the potential winner and an alternate winner will be selected.
8.DISCLAIMER: The Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the Contest, or in the announcement of prizes. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, undeliverable or incomplete entries due to system errors or failures, or faulty transmissions or other telecommunications malfunctions and/or entries not received resulting from any hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete or garbled computer or telephone transmissions, typographical or system errors and failures, or faulty transmissions, or for any problems or technical malfunction(s) of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, or entries not received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, or at a web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from entering the Contest or downloading any material for the Contest, or other telecommunications malfunctions which may limit an participant's ability to participate.
9.LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION. Except where prohibited by law, Contest participants hereby release from all liability, loss, damage, or injury resulting from, and agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sponsor and its parents, companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising out of (i) participant's participation in the Contest; (ii) the receipt or use of any prize awarded, or (iii) use of any information or materials provided by participant to Sponsor for purposes of this Contest (including, without limitation, submission of and Sponsor's use of participant's Submission). Prizes are awarded "AS-IS," and Sponsor, and its employees and agents have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize including, but not limited to, its quality, condition or fitness for a particular purpose. Sponsor is not responsible for and shall not be liable for lost, late, delayed, incomplete, unreadable, garbled, inaccurate or erroneously transmitted Submissions or information provided by Contest participants.
10.MODIFICATION AND TERMINATION: In the event the Contest is compromised by unauthorized human intervention, tampering, mechanical or electronic failures, or other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor which corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Contest, the Sponsor reserves the right, but not the obligation, in its sole discretion to void any entries submitted fraudulently or to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest, in which case the Sponsor shall not be required to award any prize or substitute prize. The Sponsor will prosecute any and all fraudulent activities to the fullest extent of the law.
11.ADDITIONAL CONTEST CONDITIONS: Each Prize winner will be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 with the winner's full Social Security Number or the equivalent for receipt of any prize valued at $600 or more or for any prizes awarded by the Sponsor in a calendar year with an aggregate value of $600 or more. Failure to submit a complete W-9 or equivalent will result in forfeiture of the Prize. Such winnings of $600 or more will be reported to the IRS. By participating in the Contest, each participant assigns ownership of his or her Submission to Sponsor, including all rights to print, publish, broadcast, edit and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, at any time or times, such Submission. Winning participants hereby grant Sponsor and its licensees, affiliates and assigns the right to print, publish, broadcast, edit and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, their respective names, portraits, pictures, voices, likenesses and biographical information as news or information and for advertising and promotional purposes relating to this Contest and Sponsor's products or services without additional financial or other compensation, unless prohibited by law. By providing information to Sponsor pursuant to this Contest, each participant consents to Sponsor's use of such information for promotional or any other purposes allowed by law. Each participant also represents and warrants that any and all materials submitted for entry into this Contest are such participant's own, that such participant owns all rights, interest, and title to any and all such materials, and that participant has secured any necessary consents or waivers from third parties relating to such materials. Winners must sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the Prizes unless prohibited by law. Winners further agree to appear for any presentation or other activity which may include filming, audio, video, electronic or other recordings and/or interviews as may be determined from time to time by the Sponsor, unless prohibited by law. By providing information pursuant to this Contest, the participant consents to the Sponsor's use of such information for promotional or any other purposes allowed by law.
