About Me

**I specialize in standardized test prep for math. I scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, SAT II, and ACT math tests.** I am a graduate of New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, graduating with honors and a 3.7 GPA in January 2011. At NYU I designed a rigorous course of study for myself centered around art and writing, working closely with an array of esteemed professors. NYU was my first choice school and I got in without trouble thanks to my preparation in high school. I was very successful when I took the SAT and ACT tests in high school and would like to help current high school students do the same (I am happy to share my scores upon inquiry). I have trained with Kaplan to supplement my own test-taking methods. I work closely with my students, tailoring each lesson to their individual needs and strengths. I ask that the student or parent provide me with the materials to be covered in the tutoring session beforehand so that I have ample time to prepare a lesson that makes sense for the particular student. In addition to SAT and ACT prep I tutor students of all ages in a variety of subjects. I have tutored a diverse array of students from seniors in high school struggling with math to unruly third grade siblings acting out against their science homework. I am a professional dancer working in the musical theatre genre (lauravolpacchio.com) as well as a photographer (lvphotoanddesign.com), bookworm, and general nerd.
