About Me

Patient and precise Ivy League grad, adept at teaching young children as well as high schoolers and beyond. I love teaching and helping people and have had experience in doing so throughout my early and later life. I tutored Latin and English while I was a student at the Nightingale-Bamford School (was recommended to students by teachers at school). Currently, I am tutoring an incoming LLM student in Intellectual Property Law (focusing on copyright law) and helping an undergraduate history student with his history thesis, editing for grammar and sentence choice as well as helping him develop a persuasive writing style. Published Author/Reading Comp Specialist Between college and grad school, I wrote a study guide to how to read a Russian author, which is still in print. It is a book geared to college and grad students, but it shows both critical thinking on the topic and methods to increase reading comprehension on the seemingly complex short stories of an author, all while making the reading accessible to a wider audience. Teacher at the MBA level While in business school, I was asked to be a lead teaching assistant in organization behavior. In this role, I helped design the course, and also graded essays and worked with students. This is a sampling of the relevant experience I bring to the task at hand. I have taken and excelled in ERBs, SATs and SAT II subject tests, LSATs, and GMATs. While at Nightingale, I always scored perfect or near perfect on the reading comprehension standardized tests. I received the top score (5) on both English AP exams as well. Your Goals In terms of your children, I can work with them on school homework and/or design a reading comprehension and writing program using books that are age appropriate but pleasing to them (I can supplement with short exercises and drills to reinforce this work. Basically, I aim to engage and instill a love of reading, which will hopefully be for life(!), while also improving their skills in reading and writing. I also specialize in teaching effective note taking and organizational skills. For the older student, I am prepared to help them succeed at the high school level, including helping them to create college essays. I am highly skilled at editing and polishing these essays as well.
