About Me
Hi! I am a graduate student at Teachers College at Columbia, getting my Masters in Special Education for Intellectual Disability and Autism. At the end of this year I will be an NYS certified teacher for both general and special education, grades 1-6. I have been working with students with special needs for 4 years and love every minute of it. It is so exciting to see that light bulb go off when a student gets something they have been struggling with. I have worked one-on-one with a variety of students, both with and without disabilities, ranging in age from 6 to 16. I thoroughly enjoy the process of getting to know a student and building a relationship with them. I like to plan activities and lessons that will speak to the student's interests and keep them engaged and motivated to learn. I am good at breaking things down and teaching concepts to mastery. I am also very patient and have experience with all types of ability levels, behaviors, and needs. Please contact me!
