About Me
I offer
one-on-one personalized tutoring services in a variety of subjects for
junior high, high school, and college students in South Charlotte and
neighboring locales.
I am a licensed Physical Therapist with a Master of Science degree from the University of Connecticut. My strongest areas of expertise include Biology, Physiology, Math, and Writing.
I am a member of Mensa, a reputable society of high-IQ individuals.
Unlike many high-IQ individuals, who tend to be highly-introverted, I
have a zeal and penchant for teaching. My experience includes providing
academic tutoring services to NCAA Division-I athletes.
My teaching philosophy is different from, but complementary to, traditional school teachers'
philosophy. While I do include content instruction to students, I also
strive to focus on laying the foundation for quality study habits and
work ethic, and then help each student to build his/her tower of
knowledge upon said foundation. In other words, while I can help a
student "cram" for a specific test or topic material, I'm also adept at
fostering a desire for learning. I believe the latter is far more
important and useful than the former, and I encourage each student to
seek a path of life-long learning.
I pride myself on being able
to connect with and assist all levels of students. Some students need to
improve study habits, and others need to improve test-taking skills;
the two are not the same thing.
Whether you or your child is an
overachiever seeking more challenge, or an underachiever needing
assistance with studies, I can be your guide to greater achievement.
I look forward to meeting you!
