About Me

I have a B.A. in Education and Child Study and a Master's Degree in Special Education and am licensed to teach Elementary K-6 and Special Education K-12.  As a teacher with experience in schools from the inner-city to the suburbs, working with students in all grades, at all levels of academic achievement, I can safely say one thing:  Every child is born with infinite potential and yours is no exception. Just because that potential hasn't been tapped up until now does not mean it's not there, it just means your child needs to be reached in a different way; and that's what I do.

I use intensive, individual, research-based instructional methods tailored to your child's specific strengths and weaknesses.  We'll work hard, but we'll have fun because every tutoring session will be geared towards giving your child opportunities to succeed.  And that's the secret that nobody will tell you about teaching kids who have difficulties: Success breeds success. It's like building blocks: one right answer is the foundation for another right answer, a higher level of confidence, and a deeper level of understanding, all of which builds into a high level of competence that meets or exceeds grade-level standards and leads to the love of reading and writing that is so important in enriching your child's life.
