About Me
Hello! I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History and minoring in French. During my time at Notre Dame, I was involved in a service program called Teamwork for Tomorrow. As a part of this program, I tutored the same child for four years in reading and writing. My time as a tutor, mentor, and role model for this young child was life changing; I loved watching him grow from a shy second grader to a confident fifth grader. Indeed, my experience with Teamwork for Tomorrow inspired me to pursue teaching as a career. After my graduation in 2010, I became a member of the Alliance for Catholic Education Service Through Teaching program at the University of Notre Dame. As a part of this graduate program, I taught middle school Social Studies for two years at Holy Cross of San Antonio Middle High School in San Antonio, TX and simultaneously earned my Master of Education degree. I was blessed to have been accepted as a part of the Holy Cross community and formed close relationships with my students and their families. There is nothing that compares to the satisfaction that comes as a result of my students' success. One of my students who I taught for two years struggled immensely in school. He had low self-esteem and called himself "stupid," but I was determined to change his mind. By his last semester of 8th grade, he received the highest grade in the class on a test and passed my class with an average of 88%. No words can explain the pride I felt when he smiled and said, "My mom is going to think I am SO smart!" Today, I continue to teach in Chicago and hold teaching licenses in both Indiana and Illinois. I am dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic and I will make sure your children succeed.
