About Me
Growing up in a developing country such as Colombia has definitively been a driving force to pursue a more profound knowledge of labor economics through a Ph.D. program. I like to think that in the near future my research will permeate policy debates and assist policymakers when defining new development strategies. This initiative indicates my urge to enter the job market as soon as possible to start traveling the long road towards better understanding the critical issues that deteriorate labor markets in developing countries. Additionally, I believe that, in the long-term, I want to work closely with policymakers, perhaps as a member of the Colombian government economic technical staff or a multilateral economic institution. However, I am sure the academic world will always be present in my life given my great appreciation of both teaching and doing research.
