I'm currently a PhD student in Artificial Intelligence at UC Berkeley. I graduated summa cum laude with honors from Cornell University's College of Engineering. In my 10 years of tutoring, I've helped struggling college students raise their grades in their classes, helped high school students boost their SAT scores, and prepared middle school students for high school entrance exams.
I have received a lot of positive feedback about my tutoring skills. My students have said I am better at explaining concepts than their professors. They say I make them feel comfortable with challenging subjects. Whereas other, less patient tutors might get frustrated with students who are having trouble in class, I do not. I am truly passionate about education and helping students succeed.

Dave is a good listener, thoughtful, and kind. He always made sure that before I left, I understood what we went over. I particularly liked his way of teaching when after he explained a new concept, he'd asked me to try to explain it back to him. I thought it was an excellent way of gauging whether or not the mental model I had made in my mind was correct. I'd recommend him especially if you like taking your time to learn and really enjoy thinking deeply about the topics at hand.

Dave has been absolutely amazing for GRE lessons! He is extremely patient and understanding. Although he is brilliant and can probably solve any math problem, Dave does not make me feel inferior or unintelligent. He explains things very clearly and emails me practice problems. I highly recommend Dave as a tutor!
