About Me
I believe that nothing helps a student more than working one-on-one with a teacher who truly understands him or her as a person and as a learner. I enjoy getting to know students and adapting my teaching to fit their individual needs. I am a lover of words and stories, and as an educator, I have always tried to share that love.
As a Phi Beta Kappa graduate with experience as both a tutor and schoolteacher, I am qualified to help your child reach the next level in English class or in writing, which is becoming increasingly important in all academic areas. I also specialize in preparing students for the SAT and SAT II exams.

I am a current student at the University of Southern California who studied with Brendan in Fall 2009 for the Critical Reading and Writing sections of the SAT. Brendan is a great tutor and very pleasant and fun to work with! I was able to improve my scores with his help and received a 690 on Reading and an 800 on Writing. Our meetings were always productive and never boring. Preparing for the SAT can be tedious, but with Brendan it never was since he has a great personality and is a great tutor.
