About Me

My name is Daniel Kamhis and I live in Los Angeles. I have a BA in Math from UCSD, graduating magna cum laude. The subjects I tutor include all levels of math through Calculus, AP Economics, statistics and physics. I can also tutor test prep, English vocabulary and composition. I've had a number of salvage cases and I'm quite expert in rapidly debugging such situations, clearing up the missed areas, and getting the students winning and moving again successfully through the material. As I do this full-time, I usually can work out my schedule to the client's satisfaction, including nights and weekends. Here's what a couple clients have had to say: ------- My daughter recently moved from sixth grade to seventh grade at a new middle school. We tried to help her at first but the level of math knowledge we needed to have was not enough. To help effectively we had to restudy the subject ourselves. This did not work well with our work schedule and her homework deadlines. My solution was to hire someone who knew math well and could simply explain the math laws to Meagan so she could get conceptual understanding about the subject. I cannot think of anyone better then Dan Kamhis. In the past, Dan has tutored me personally on the stock market. He was very patient, understanding and knew how to get a person to have a full understanding about the subject by using the right gradients, giving a lot of examples and finding right misunderstandings. Thus, I hired him to tutor Meagan on math. He spent about 40 hours total. Since then, Meagan's grade changed from a C to an A. She is much more confident about the subject and believes math to be an easy subject. From time to time she asks me to have Dan come to help her understand newly introduced math concepts.
