About Me

I have tutored students in grades 1 - 6 for the last ten years. I have taught third grade for fourteen years, ten years on the east coast in public schools in Connecticut and Maryland, and 4 years here in Los Angeles at a private school.

After college I received my master's degree in education and have earned over 40 additional credits in teaching tools, strategies, and methodologies since then. Currently, I am taking a class at UCLA to help differentiate the curriculum to meet all students needs, and to help best match their learning styles to the objectives. In 2004 I earned a Fulbright scholarship and taught in England. Many parents have hired me during the summer to help keep their child up to speed in math since I have taught the advanced math class for many years.

Also, I have assisted students in preparing them for the ISEE test as well as helping students with reading comprehension, creative writing, and writing essays.

My goal is to make learning fun but to also ensure the children I work with are getting the most out of my time with them. My tutoring is tailored to the parents and child's needs, which may be to enrich, accelerate, or review.
