About Me

I am a 3rd year physics graduate student at Stanford University. I have taught 4 courses, which include the three primary physics intro level courses. I will be teaching upper-level electricity and magnetism next quarter, and I am comfortable tutoring in all high school and undergraduate level physics. I am also interested in tutoring high school math, and will tutor most physics-relevant math classes from college undergrad.
I love teaching, especially on a one-to-one basis. Here I can gauge the student's understanding, so that I can establish what they're struggling with and help them work through these topics. I feel that my strength is being able to explain things in a simple and intuitive way, especially through the use of diagrams and personally-tuned problems. I love seeing a student's frustration turn to satisfaction - when they realize that physics, which they thought was a list of equations, can become an intuitive, systematic, and elegant way to approach problems.

Charlie was an excellent tutor who is clearly very knowledgable about physics. He does a great job of guiding you through areas in which you are struggling, and helps you figure out the answers to your questions without telling you outright, so that you learn in the process. He is very adept at seeing the reason why you are struggling with something, and gives helpful tips to avoid falling into that same trap, and, in the process, points out ways to tremendously simplify problems.
