About Me

Hi! Thank you for viewing my profile. My name is Kristen and I have been in the special education field for approximately six years. For the last six years I have provided special education services at the early childhood level. I have worked in the classroom as well as the home. Special education is an undying passion for me. I believe so strongly that individuals with special needs require educators that can serve as both an instructor and advocate. In addition, I enjoy forming bonds with my students and their families. These bonds enable me to facilitate a child's ability to strive and reach their goals. I enjoy making children laugh and take pleasure in their educational experience. On the other hand, I have an educational background in behavior modification, which has supplied me with valuable tools for maintaining positive behavior management. I do not believe in raising my voice, as that only reveals our "adult frustration". Rather, I believe in getting to the root (or function) of inappropriate behaviors, and addressing those behaviors accordingly. Again, I have a huge heart and devotion for young children with special needs. It is my belief that I would be an asset to any family who is looking for support in this area.
