About Me
I'm a Columbia University honors graduate, tutoring English, history, math, AP exam prep, and SAT prep. In addition to teaching, I perform dance and theater and currently work in fundraising at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
In college I focused on literature, history, theater theory, design, and Spanish. Since graduating, I've danced professionally while teaching dance to school-aged students in Brooklyn.
In the past, my dance classes have focused on telling a well-known story, for example, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, through original movement. My favorite part of teaching dance has been unlocking the students' creativity to solve problems in choreography.
I've also co-founded and co-produced a theater company of Columbia grads, Hole in the Sky Theater Company. We focus on making new work that combines our shared interests in science and art. This year, we raised $30,000 to take our play about a neuroscience professor to the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival for the month of August.
As I continue to pursue my passion for performance, I find that teaching fuels my curiosity and drive, and the success of my students inspires me.
