I have always enjoyed being with and working with children. I spent my teenage years babysitting for the kids in my neighborhood. Teaching was a natural career choice for me, and it's part of my heritage. My birth mother and step father were both teachers.
I earned my CA teaching credential at Antioch University Los Angeles. I began substitute teaching for LAUSD in 1996. In 1998 I became a full-time 3rd grade teacher at a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School. I believe The Arts are an integral part of learning. I have a dance and musical theater background, and graduated from a performing arts high school in Atlanta,GA.
After teaching in the classroom for many years, I worked with the LAUSD Arts branch teaching Creative Movement to elementary students for three years throughout the District. Due to budget cuts and personaI choices I have returned to teaching in the classroom full-time, and I love it! Please contact me if you want a well-rounded tutor who makes learning magical!
