About Me

I am a University of Maryland, College Park PhD candidate in the Department of English Language & Literature. I earned an M.A. in the same department in 2008 with a concentration in Literature & Culture, Gender Studies, Diaspora, Migration and Globalization. I am currently at work on my dissertation. As an undergraduate at Rutgers University in New Jersey, I double majored in English and Spanish, with a minor in Journalism & Media Studies. I graduated with honors. I have since gone on to build a rewarding career in the field of education, working with students from elementary school to college level. My teaching experiences in different states and countries have allowed me to hone in on the most effective ways to make learning exciting and engaging!
