About Me

I'm currently a student at Teachers College, Columbia working towards my Masters degree in Secondary English Education. English was not my first language, so I understand the challenge that comes along with being a struggling reader and the value of a good teacher. Although I've just begun tutoring and teaching, I'm eager to make a difference and strive for that moment when you see in a students face that they really "get it." In the past year I've assisted with editing papers on both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as working closely with middle school students to improve their reading skills. My teaching philosophy is centered around patience, perseverance, dedication, thinking outside the box and making each student feel as special and intelligent as I know they are.
