About Me
Howdy! My name
is Jannelle and I am the crazy, young, fun tutor that is truly one of a
kind!
I started tutoring about eight years ago and have never stopped,
and like many skills, I've just gotten better over time. In the past, I
have tutored all ages, but I connect particularly well with high
schoolers, especially those with ADD and ADHD. Though slightly ADD
myself, I love working with these students because of the different way
they learn and thus how much more fun and engaging the sessions end up
being! I also strongly believe there is a certain
advantage for having ADD to better relate to others with it, as I am
naturally able to meet their needs in understanding them and the special
way that they need to be challenged.
Therefore, my highly engaging,
highly effective lessons actually put students' minds "on their toes"
from beginning to end, which really makes the most of our time together.
Whatever subject the student is having trouble in, it will likely never
be seen the same way again; many times my students often ending up
liking the subject they were previously struggling with. I also like to
include test taking skills in my lessons, as they often become
especially valuable with it comes to taking SAT's
and AP tests. And if the student isn't ADD? All the better! From my
years of experience, I have an excellent eye for pinpointing exactly
what the student is having trouble with and as with every student, I
tailor each following lesson in accordance with the student's individual
needs.
