About Me
I just graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in History, specifically military and diplomatic history, and a minor in French. I also studied abroad in Paris for a semester, so my French is good. I unofficially tutored a lot of other students in our history and French courses and would love to continue to help others out when a subject gets difficult! I'm always explaining events in history to my friends or how to say something in French. In high school, I participated in the marching band, All State Band, All County Band and Orchestra, and a private flute choir at the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra as a flautist so I am very comfortable with teaching either flute or basic music understanding to other instruments. I always took a heavy amount of coursework and activities in both high school and college so I have developed some very good organizational habits and study skills. Preparing for tests such as AP testing or the SATs, while dealing with regular coursework plus outside activities is really stressful, and I know exactly how it feels. I believe that this has led to my being an understanding and compassionate person, who will do what it takes (no matter how creative you have to be!) to work past whatever difficulties a student may have. I have also worked with special needs children, so I am patient and very willing to adjust how I tutor to fit a child's needs.
