Hello! I am a high school English teacher in the eighth year of my profession. After getting my B.A. in English from U.C. Berkeley, I began teaching 7th grade English in Los Angeles, and eventually transitioned to high school. I was a UCLA Writing Project fellow, where I worked with other teachers to develop writing curriculum for our students and students throughout Los Angeles. A few years ago, I took a two year hiatus from teaching to get my M.A. in English literature. In addition to teaching writing, I write both professionally and for fun. I love working with kids of all ages, helping them to become more skilled and confident writers. What I enjoy most about tutoring is getting to spend one-on-one time with students--something that is often difficult to do during the school day--and helping students realize their strengths as a writer. When I'm not reading, writing, teaching, or grading papers, you can find me running around and exploring the beautiful Bay Area.
