About Me

I am a recent graduate of the DePaul University Education Program, specializing in Secondary English and expecting my Illinois teaching certification this winter. While I have experience teaching large groups ages 11-18 as my major suggests, I have had equal if not more experience with one-on-one tutoring in most age groups (though so far all of the students I have tutored that were 25+ were ELL). When tutoring I feel I am a more effective instructor and facilitator, and I enjoy the work more than any other.  I am very flexible with teaching style an am happy to adapt lessons and concepts based on my students' strengths and weaknesses in learning. I have successful experiences working with students that have ADD/ADHD and also students with EBD. I am also exceptional at revising essays and have recently edited several applications for prospective law students. I have been out of school for about 6 months and am realizing how empty my life feels without teaching and tutoring, so I am looking forward to finally getting started again!
