I am a Professor of architecture and digital design at The Pratt Institute. I have also taught at Columbia University where I received my Masters in Architecture. I enjoy teaching (and learning) 3D modelling, digital animation, dynamic simulation, and descriptive drawing using Autodesk Maya, Rhinoceros, Adobe Aftereffects, Illustrator. I also have extensive CNC fabrication and 3D printing (rapid prototyping) experience.
Recently I expanded into web development and created http://ffflourish.com. I am familiar with Ruby on Rails and front end HTML & CSS.
Robert is a very knowledgeable Photoshop and Illustrator tutor. My first lesson with him was great! He was very prepared and helpful, and I plan on scheduling follow up lessons.
Robert is a fantastic tutor. Not only can he explain the "invisible " processes of the software that we work with, but he can also contextualize the techniques within the possibilities they offer to professional practice. And he does that with a great aesthetic sensibility. He comes to every session with a plan of study for the day already in mind, but at the same time, he engages with the direction you want to take in your lessons. He really knows his stuff. Highly recommended.
It 's extremely difficult to find people like Robert who are knowledgeable in everything digital/3D you can think of. I got a lot of help on my maya project as well as some issues I was having with 3ds max, and it 's an engaging class/tutor session because his methods of inquiry, especially with maya, are very interesting.
