About Me
I love getting to know students on an individual basis, figuring out their needs as a student and creating tools that will meet those needs. I have taught high school for five years in Los Angeles at all levels, including AP US History, US History, World History, Economics, American Government and electives in Playwriting and Yearbook (Journalism). I have partnered with English teachers to teach interdisciplinary curriculum and have graded essays with those teachers using the same rubric, so I am very familiar with the expectations and methods of English teachers as well. I have recently moved to the New Haven area and want to concentrate on helping individual students meet their full potential. I am certified to teach in California and Connecticut.
Besides teaching, I love acting, theater and film; I also majored in Cinematic Arts at USC. I have taught Playwriting and helped students produce their own production at my previous school. It is extremely important to foster creativity in young people. I also enjoy playing and watching sports, camping, hiking and reading novels.
