About Me
I am currently a part-time graduate student studying TESOL at Teachers College, Columbia University. I am also a part-time teacher in a private school in New Jersey teaching ESL and Pre-Algebra. My biggest passion and interest is teaching students of various ages and levels. I worked as a tutor every summer during my college years teaching ESL, TOEFL, and SLEP in Korea. I also volunteered as a Korean teacher for a year in 2007 teaching Korean as a heritage language to Korean-Americans in Arkansas. Having grown up learning English as a second language, I have an intimate understanding of English language learners’ struggles and difficulties. My hope is to help ESL students achieve success drawing from my teaching experience, passions, and my personal experience of working towards mastery of the English language.
