About Me
Hi!
I am recent Columbia University graduate with a passion for helping students succeed. I've taught in a variety of settings, from serving as an economics teaching assistant at Columbia to tutoring middle and high school students in standardized test preparation. I have experience teaching economics, math, reading, and writing as well as standardized test-taking skills.
I get great satisfaction from seeing my students succeed, and try to make this happen as quickly as possible by being very attentive to feedback from my students and tailoring every lesson to each student's specific needs and learning style.
I typically approach a session with the goal of helping a student master 1, 2 or more new concepts. To make sure my student achieves complete understanding of a concept, I often break it down into more manageable components and then explain and practice each of these individually with the student. Then, I work with them to put the pieces together, ensuring that they have a deep understanding of the overarching idea and its components that will allow them to successfully apply the ideas they've learned to a variety of problems or situations, including those they may not have practiced yet.
