About Me

Howdy! My name is Zach and I'm passionate about English language arts and bringing the power of the written word to everyone. I graduated with honors in English from the University of Michigan, receiving awards for two plays and a fiction manuscript and upon graduation, moved to Los Angeles where for the last four years I have worked in various fields: in advertising as a treatment writer and copywriter for national campaigns, as a featured essayist and contributor for SpliceToday (culture magazine in Baltimore), as a working playwright (two plays produced in 2010, 2011) and as a touring musician with my vaudeville bluegrass group The Dustbowl Revival. I have continued my education with classes at UCLA and will be seeking an MFA. I have helped kids informally in writing for their school projects and I would love to now contribute on a higher level - inspiring each kid to realize his or her potential as a writer and lover of literature. I have directed and studied Shakespeare extensively and having studied abroad in Spain I can also help bi-lingual students.
