I graduated from Connecticut College in 2009 with a Bachelors in Economics and International Relations, and a minor in Math. After graduating, I worked as an Analyst in Boston. Although, I enjoyed the competitiveness of my job, my heart has always been in education. My experience with the Big Brother and Big Sister program convinced me to make the transition and then, I applied for Teach for America. I will be joining the corps in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a middle school Math teacher. In the meantime, I am tutoring students to get exposure to students' learning and effective teaching.
Since I have already begun the process of becoming a teacher, I have also passed some of the competency exams: CBEST, CSET 1 (Algebra 1 and 2), Praxis 1, Praxis 2 (Middle School Math).

I would definitely recommend Yousuf to anyone looking for a math tutor! He has experience as both a tutor and a mentor, and he really cares about the students he works with. He also does a great job of making learning both interactive and fun. I've witnessed Yousuf's mentorship style as a Big Brother with the Big Brother/Big Sister program, where he mentored a sixth grader with a learning disability. Yousuf planned biweekly activities to help increase his little brother's confidence in reading,

Yousuf is an extremely dedicated teacher. He will always go the extra mile to help his students understand a concept. He is friendly, easy to get along with, and highly skilled in his subject matter. Any tutee would be lucky to have him as a tutor.
