I currently teach English Literature, Composition, and Poetry at a college in Midtown Manhattan. Many of my students speak English as a second language. In addition, I have worked with six year olds on reading, tutored middle school students in history, and helped senior citizens write memoir.

As a child I had a learning disability that I managed to overcome through tutoring, focus, and a lot of hard work. I went from struggling to read, to reading over a thousand pages in a single day. As an adult I have tutored students with dyslexia and problems with writing and symbol recognition.

I have an Honors degree in History and Classical Civilizations, with a minor in English from the University of Toronto, Trinity College. During that time I studied abroad extensively in Italy, China, and England. I received a Masters of Fine Arts degree in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College.

In my free time I write, read, and run.
