About Me
Susannah Buzard received her Bachelor's Degree in Russian Literature and Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from Mount Holyoke College. She then earned a post-baccalaureate degree in Creative Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Over the course of six years that followed, Susannah worked as a tutor and ultimately as the full time Learning Specialist for Lesley University while finishing her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on adolescent development.
Personal Biography
As the full time Learning Specialist, Susannah was responsible for case managing a minimum of thirty students per semester who were in danger of academic failure. She has logged thousands of tutoring hours teaching content areas (mostly in the humanities and social sciences) as well as study strategies (organization, time management, prioritization, metacognitive skills, and self-advocacy) to high school,college students and graduate students in the university setting and privately. Through successfully completing these hours, she earned her certification as a Master Tutor by The College Reading and Learning Association in 2006.
* Susannah specializes in working with intelligent students who learn differently.
* Her clients range from those with undiagnosed learning challenges who need help with writing to students who struggle with reading and language based learning disabilities, information processing disorders, sensory motor integration challenges, Asperger�s Syndrome, executive functioning issues, and Attention Deficit Disorder.
* She has given speeches and presentations to local organizations and colleges on Attention Deficit Disorder as well as the importance of understanding students with learning disabilities.
* In her free time, Susannah enjoys biking, writing,independent film,live music, cats, and book readings.
