About Me
Hello all! I'm an Information Science & Technology graduate from Temple University who has worked in the IT field both in a long-standing corporate as well as a start-up entrepreneurial environment.
When I was in school I was more of a hands-on kind of person who needed to understand what the importance was of what I was learning to really be engaged in the classroom. As a part-time substitute teacher I try my best to engage my students by portraying real-life and sometimes fictional examples that they can relate to for whatever subject manner we happen to be discussing.
I enjoy and excel in Math and Science in particular, yet believe that with the right organized approach even the least desired subjects can be tackled. I'm excited about tutoring because it offers me ample opportunity to try out some creative learning techniques with individual students that I wasn't aware of during my school days.
Even though I tested gifted in grade school and took many AP courses throughout middle and high school I experienced challenges with reading comprehension and focus, along with the negative feelings that come with failure. I wish to encourage younger students that may have or currently experience similar challenges and feelings by demonstrating options that worked for me and hopefully will work for them too.
Let's do it!
