About Me
I am a professional photographer and digital artist with twenty-two years experience in photography. I have been using Adobe Photoshop professionally since 1998, in various roles including catalog pre-press (film scanning, retouching, color correction, masking, layers) to creative web and print design roles. I currently work in the furniture industry and use professional Canon digital SLR's for portrait and product photography. I also have an avid interest in fine art photography, particularly in digitally generated black and white gallery printing. I still occasionally return to the traditional darkroom to print large format film (4 x 5) as well.
In my professional career, I have always had the pleasure and responsibility of teaching my craft. I really enjoy working with creative people from all walks of life, from aspiring graphic designers to serious photography enthusiasts. Photography is a wonderful medium, and there are more tools and materials to explore today than ever before. The digital world can be a little daunting at first, with such a wide array of digital cameras, printers and accessories. My goal with students is to encourage and nurture their creative passions while giving them a solid foundation in the principles and practices of photography and digital editing.
