About Me
I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics & Economics and I have much experience in tutoring math. I also have a Master degree in Statistics and Applied Mathematics and have been working as a math tutor at the College of Staten Island since 2008. I tutor different levels of math- remedial math, college algebra, finite math, calculus, probability, statistics and differential equations- and help students recognize the structures/patterns of each type of problem such that they could apply the right method to solve similar problems. I also teach students how to break down the hard math problem and transform them into an easy problem, and they could use this technique for doing further harder problems.
I also worked as a Teaching Assistant and helped 7th-8th graders with in class assignments. I mainly used daily examples to tutor them such that they could understand how to solve a mathematical problem by some simple scenarios. I found this technique could help them to remember how to solve a problem when they would do similar problems next time. I am currently working at the Fashion Institute of Technology as a math tutor. I assist students who have learning disabilities in math and I tutor them how to be confidence about their studies. I am also working at the Bensonhurst Mathnasium as well.
