About Me
Hello! My name is Stephanie Skiba and I currently teach third grade at a public school in the Bronx. I have been teaching third grade for three years and taught fifth grade for one year. I am also an alumna of Teach for America. I regularly teach Math and ELA test prep during a 3rd grade after-school program and have significant experience teaching 5th grade ELA and Math test prep, and 4th grade Science test prep. I am currently enrolled in Columbia University's "Summer Principals Academy" at Teachers College, to receive my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Administration in July 2012. I also hold a Masters in Elementary Education from Pace University and a Bachelors degree in both Political Science and History from Binghamton University. I spent my sophomore year at Oxford University in England studying History and Politics. I spent my 2010 summer in Mexico on a Fulbright-Hays scholarship. My time was used to prepare a unit of study on Mexico accessible to all teachers nationwide via the U.S. Department of Education. I am available to tutor your elementary-level student in all subjects, including Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies, basic Spanish, and Enrichment. I am willing to travel to most areas of Queens and Nassau County.
