About Me
My parents have each spent over 30 years in public education. Many of my relatives are Peace Corps alumni. These connections to education and service to country fueled my passion for fighting the achievement gap, and ultimately led to my applying for Teach For America. I am starting my second year as a teacher in the upcoming 2012 school year. I have found I possess both a passion and an aptitude for the work. The bulk of my education experience lies in English Language Arts. That encompasses the whole range from basic reading ability, to comprehension skills, to writing for all age levels. I am graduating from Fordham University Graduate School of Education in June 2013 with a Masters of Science in Teaching: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Langauges.
