Carlsbad Overview

Carlsbad is a coastal city located in Southern California. The history of the city starts with the Luise–o people, who were Native Americans that settled in the area with the first Spanish settlers. The city started to get famous in1880s when John Frazier, a sailorman, dug a well and discovered that the water of the area had the same chemistry of the world famous spas such as the Carlsbad Spa in Bohemia, which also gave the city its name, or Karlovy Lazne in the Czech Republic. After this discovery, the distribution of the water was industrialised and some time later, the area flourished with the cultivation of citrus fruits, avocados and olive. Carlsbad has been developing from those days on, and today it's an industrialised city with 105,000 inhabitants.
