History

There are many interesting facts about this city. Originally Cincinnati was called Ft. Washington and then Losantiville. Its first years were marred by Native American attacks, but by 1802, they'd ceased. In addition, Winston Churchill called Cincinnati one of the most beautiful cities of the Union. The city also influenced Harriet Beecher Stowe. She began writing 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' while living there. Cincinnati was the first American city to have a professional baseball team. The city continued to grow and be home to firsts Ð like the do-it-yourself car, and the Kroger supermarket chain. As of the 2010 census, there were 296,943 citizens in Lexington.
