History

In the 1840s, John C. Fremont mapped a pathway through Mission Pass in California to aid settlers in reaching the southeastern shores of San Francisco Bay. In 1953, many of the small communities that had been established came together to form modern day Fremont. Surrounded by over 55,000 trees in its city limits and a multitude of city and state parks on it's flanks, Fremont has become an industry Mecca, with more than 1,200 high-tech, life, science and clean technology firms calling it home.
